Cordoba, Argentina

My friend Dave and I snuck up to the roof of the Ritz Hotel to hang out for the early evening.  We took a bunch of pretty cool pics using a mag-lite and my tripod.  The city skyline is pretty cool.

Chichen Itza, Mexico

I love the pyramids at Chichen Itza.  They are powerful and a beautiful testament to the influence of the Mayan.  They are perfectly placed as astronomical markers.  They remind me of the connection to nature that people once lived and ruled by.

I took this picture in the morning before package tourists from Cancun arrived in huge buses, layered on sunscreen and then overtook evvery inch of the place.

Florence, Italy

Waiting...

for a guided tour of Florence, I noticed this Vespa parked in the sun.  I thought it was perfectly placed, waiting for me to steal it's picture.  So I did.  High school kids buzzed all around me but I was able to capture a fleeting moment of quiet.

Western Kazakhstan Countryside.

En-route from Aktobe to Aral...

We came across this field while driving south towards the Aral Sea.  This picture reminds me of the sense of isolation that I felt while travelling in Kazakhstan.  More than any other place that I have been to, the open flat space here created this sense within me.  I awoke early to see the sunrise over this field that day.  It was easy to do as I had spent the night camping here. Our road was a dirt track that often diverted into many tracks, all seemingly going in different directions but ultimately leading to the same place, Aral.
